LUCKY KO!!! I think this fight tops the list of fights where a guy was getting beat down and came back to win. (aka Scott Smith a couple times...) This was a total blow out until Robbie threw pretty much his first punch of the fight. I was lost 4 words, Manhoef was KILLING him when that punch landed, I dont think Lawler woulda made it out 4 the second round with his leg the way it was. CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! |

Well said Jeff, you said exactly what I was going to. Melvin was looking so good, he just got caught. Lawler's leg was in pretty bad shape after lol he was barely walking on it. It's gonna be hurting for a while lol |

I actually watched them all on youtube...I'm not sure if they have been deleted but they were all in pretty good quality...Best site to watch recent fights is usually mma-core.com.
I wouldn't call robbies knockout "luck" because it was manhoefs fault for getting cocky and going into robbie range, especially with his hand down...it seemed like manhoef wasn't even expecting robbie to throw a punch which makes it even worse. So robbie caught him on the chin and manhoefs light went out...If your manhoef, it doesn't matter how good of a striker you are, ANY punch could potentially knock you out, so he should have been ready...Tired of hearing it was a lucky punch. But I would like to hear some examples of what consitiutes as a lucky punch to you guys? |

I wouldnt say it was a lucky punch, I thought lawler was getting a 1st class beating but was blocking a lot of the head shots which is what manhoef should of been doing before the lights out. Lawler was waiting for the hands to drop so his plan worked. Barely |

I didn't say it was lucky. Gaz is right, Lawler said his game-plan was to get Melvin to go for the kill cuz he knows he drops his hands when he does. The game-plan turned out to work, like Gaz said barely...kinda stupid game-plan if you ask me...let the guy beat on you bad until you hope you can land a punch on him to KO him. |

I doubt that was his game plan, instead his "oh shit, I'm getting my ass beat, this is my only hope in hell at this point" plan. he definitely would not have been walking the day after |
