A heavyweight showdown between “Ultimate Fighter” season ten winner, Roy “Big Country” Nelson and six-foot-eleven, Stefan Struve has been signed for UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31st in Chaelotte, North Carolina despite the rumour mill working overtime earlier today.
According to MMAJunkie.com, sources close to the situation have revealed that signed bout agreements are now in place on both sides.
This is hot on the heels of Nelson posting on his Twitter page that he would be the man to square off with heavyweight boxing champion, James “Light’s Out” Toney, now thought to be a prank.
Nelson, a former IFL champion, won the tenth season of the reality show after defeating “Kimbo Slice”, Justin Wren and James Sweeney. In the finale he knocked out Brendan Schaub in the very first round.
Struve has cemented his position as a rising star in the division with his third win on the spin, defeating Paul Buentello last time out via unanimous decision.

I like them both and Struve is a good up and comer but Nelson is too much for him. "Big Country" by 1st or 2nd round (T)KO. |

I agree, Struve is not strong enough for the mass of Nelson. I see this fight going like most of countrys last fights. Ground and pound. Unless Struve can keep his distance and pick off Nelson using his reach. I do like Struve, hope he pulls this one off! |

I would have to look at Struve's picture to see who he is, but I know you can't lift the moon. I'm going with Big Country as well. |

I dont see what you see in Roy Nelson, Struve is superior in skill and arm reach. He has lots of submissions as well. With the right game plan he comes out walking with Nelson on the canvas. At least Struve won't be as bad as that Schaub guy taking a straight right to the ear and then sleeping. |

Nelson is widely underestimated based on being fat but he has surprisingly good cardio and he is a BJJ Black Belt and is good on the ground, He beat Mir in a grappling Match and although its not the same as MMA he still beat one of the best HW grapplers. Struve likely has the striking advantage just due to his length/reach but he doesn't have the strength to stop Nelson from taking him down |

I'd still give the advantage in striking to Big Country. Reach doesn't give you better striking, just something he can use as an advantage. I think with what Buentello did to Struve considering he was rusty that Nelson does pretty much the same thing as he did against Schaub. |
